远望3号是我国第二代航天远洋测量船，1995年正式投入使用，隶属于中国卫星海上测控部。船长180余米，满载排水量近1.7万吨，最大航速20节，可在全球海域执行任务。船上搭载雷达、通信、遥测等全套高精度测控设备，具备跟踪测量火箭、卫星、载人飞船等能力。该船常年奔赴太平洋、印度洋等海域，圆满完成神舟系列飞船、嫦娥探月、各类卫星发射等重大测控任务。它航行里程可观，历经复杂海况考验，是我国航天测控网不可或缺的海上中坚力量。

Yuanwang 3 is China’s second-generation ocean-going space tracking ship, officially commissioned in 1995 and affiliated to China Satellite Maritime Tracking and Control Department.

With an overall length of over 180 meters, a full-load displacement of nearly 17,000 tons and a maximum speed of 20 knots, it is capable of carrying out missions across global sea areas. Equipped with a full suite of high-precision tracking and control devices including radar, communication and telemetry systems, the vessel can track and measure rockets, satellites, manned spacecraft and other aerospace vehicles.

It sails year-round to waters such as the Pacific and Indian Oceans, having successfully accomplished major tracking and control missions for the Shenzhou manned spacecraft series, the Chang’e lunar exploration program, and the launches of various satellites. Having sailed extensive mileage and endured harsh complex sea conditions, Yuanwang 3 serves as an indispensable core maritime backbone of China’s aerospace tracking and control network.
